EQ and PDUs: Two Acronyms that Work Together |

EQ is the acronym for Emotional Intelligence. Not only do you have an IQ
(Intelligence Quotient), you also have emotional intelligence. EQ is not about traditional intelligence. It is about your ability to handle yourself and others. It is all about your ability to get along with others and build relationships. And here is the great news; EQ can be developed.
PDU is Professional Development Unit and as a Project Management Professional (PMP - oops ANOTHER acronym) you earn PDUs through various activities. You might volunteer, you might be an acting project manager and you might also engage in learning.

You do need technical abilities, your competencies at a specific skill or within a specific subject matter, but to thrive you need your ability to get along with people. The most successful leaders have a high degree of emotional intelligence.
