BREAKING NEWS: PMP® Exam Change is Moving to June 2020
The Project Management Institute (PMI)® has announced that the Project Management Professional (PMP)® exam change that was originally scheduled for December 16, 2019, has now been moved to July 1, 2020. Here is the official announcement that PMI published for their Registered Education Providers:
In June, PMI announced a significant change to the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification exam. Stakeholders began sharing feedback immediately and the consensus has been they feel they need more time to prepare. We are responding to this feedback with a decision to delay the PMP exam change.
The last day for candidates to take the current version of the PMP exam is now 30 June 2020. Starting 1 July 2020, the PMP exam will reflect the new exam content. If you have any questions about how this date change may affect you, please contact PMI Customer Care.
This change gives training providers additional time to update their PMP exam prep books, courses and exam simulators for you. And at the same time, if you are currently preparing for your PMP exam, then this is also a welcome extension to your schedule because it means that you now don't have to rush.
But -- and this is a VERY IMPORTANT and a VERY BIG BUT -- don't let this date change become a reason for you to become complacent. Don't go and "slack off" just because there is additional time until the change. Instead, consider this to be an opportunity for you to review your current study schedule and adjust it "just a bit" to give yourself a little more breathing room. It is by no means a reason for you to say "Oh good! I can do this next year then".
Keep it up. Keep studying. Get PMP certified NOW!
