PMP Exam Tip: Just stick with the Plan(s) Stan(s) |
This PMP exam tip is brought to you by our PMP Exam Coach - Dan Ryan, MBA, PMP Many students ask me the best way to memorize ITTOs. Well that could take a while with over 600! So here something I often recommend to get started. Think of it as ‘targeting’ a section of processes (and their associated ITTOs) that may be very likely to rear their head on the exam. And even if these
ITTOs do not appear on the exam the ‘outputs’ from these processes are highly likely to make an appearance in some form as well. So in this case you get a 2 for 1 study bonus. By studying these processes you make headway on some of the most important ITTOs -- as well as learning about the major sub components of the Project Plan in general. Take a look at table 3.1 in the PMBOK 5th edition (page 61) and drill down onto the Planning Process group. Take note of all the processes that
contain the word ‘Plan”

Why You Failed PMP Exam and Missed Your Chance to Being a Certified Project Manager |
While I hope it doesn’t happen to you, some people fail the PMP exam 3 times. If you do find yourself in that situation, you will have to wait a year from the date of your last exam before you will be able to apply for your PMP certification again.
Over the years, I have found several reasons why someone continues to fail the exam. However – and as hard as it may be to hear this – if it happens to you then you have
to acknowledge that you are part of the problem! You are the one taking and failing the test and you should carry some responsibility for not being able to pass because many, many other people do manage to get through it each year.
But on the other hand PMI has made this exam extremely difficult, and by sitting for the exam multiple times you have proven that you are serious about passing the exam, getting your PMP Credential, and distinguishing yourself from your peers. You can still
keep your head up high!
