PMP Exam Lessons Learned from Hakim Benzidane, PMP
Just wanted to share with you that I passed the PMP exam yesterday. The journey started in Feb 2016 and honestly, I feel quite relieved now :-).

Some of my feedbacks:
As I was often on business trips, I wanted to be able to study wherever I needed to and at my own pace. So I became a PMI member and purchased the following :
  1. Cornelius Fichtner, PMP, CSM PM PrepCast, Formulas Study Guide & Simulator
  2. PMBOK 5th edition (ebook AND paper copy)
  3. PMP Pocket Prep app.
  4. Rita’s Exam Prepbook

I studied regularly (1h per day + 4h per weekend). I started reading the PMBOK and watching the relevant videos from the prepcast. Once I finished a knowledge group, I was doing some quiz via the Simulator and PMP Pocket Prep app. Once I finished the PMBOK and the PrepCast, I started reading Rita’s, and still doing quiz/exams on a regular basis.

I only reviewed the material once and took more than 2000 questions with an average of 76% of good answers (I reviewed the explanations of ALL the answers

Student Profile: Joel Ogden, PMP
" I am currently broadening my business acumen as a Business Development Principal with Jacobs, primarily working in the public and defense sectors. I have over 15 years of management and IT consulting experience working with Booz Allen Hamilton, Deloitte Consulting, and now Jacobs.

Recently, I was the deputy program manager for a multi-million dollar software development project for a government customer. It was in this role that I pursued my MBA in Project Management and began the quest for PMP certification. I never saw myself becoming a PM, but as my responsibilities grew, I became acutely aware of the need for solid project management across the various projects I supported.

This led me to pursue the PMP beginning last summer (July 2015), and achieving the certification in December 2015...."

" I am about to send in my PMP application and I was wondering what is the best format for the project descriptions. And does it even matter. I am ready to submit my application with Format #1 prepared so I hope that is acceptable.

Format # 1 (example description):

Title: AAAA System – Migration to new owner

Objectives: Update software for new legislation, repackage to match stakeholder needs

Deliverables: Product install, options for repackaging software, government approvals

I was appointed project manager by sr. staff. Duties included determining scope, monitoring and ensuring quality, assuring government approvals were received, leading a team which created new packaging and deployment options, identification of associated risks.

Management selected appropriate packaging option. Deliverables were accepted by management when all tasks complete."
